Understand these are only incidents we think have some significance and will not include, for example, a response to false or well intentioned fire alarms. Likewise, not every single medical call is on there either.

Update: 240 Intersections w/o Traffic Lights; Partial List of Primary Intersections w/o Working Stoplights

Approx. 240 Intersections w/o Traffic Lights; Obey 4-Way Stop Rules and Drive with Caution. 

As of 5:30AM, there are approximately 240 intersections without working stoplights in Montgomery County. As a reminder, treat ALL intersections without a working stoplight as a four-way stop.

-Allow extra time for your commute and plan on delays.
-Proceed with caution ONLY when traffic permits.
-Enter intersections only when it is safe to do so, using turn signals to let other motorists know your intentions.
-Yield to pedestrians in crosswalks.
-Be alert for police officers directing traffic.

Infant & Child Car Seat Safety Information

As Chief Bowers has stated on numerous occasions, preventing the 9-1-1 call is our top priority. What does that mean?

For one it means helping folks to prevent fire in their home by providing fire prevention tips and going into the neighborhoods each Saturday knocking on doors, handing out tips, and checking smoke alarms.

As our Fire and Rescue personnel also provide ambulance service, it also means promoting healthy living habits and providing injury prevention information and programs. One of our best injury prevention programs is our Child Passenger Safety Seat (CPSS) program.

If you have young children, or grand children, please take a moment to visit our CPSS site to learn how to best keep your children safe in cars as well as schedule a child safety seat inspection/installation appointment.

It's National EMS Week: "Anytime. Anywhere. We'll be there."

It is National Emergency Medical Services Week this week, May 16 – 22. The theme: "Anytime. Anywhere. We'll be there."

The theme is a great one and certainly highlights Montgomery County Fire and Rescue’s year round commitment to all community members that we are ready to serve 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!
